Due to the widespread use of the 8V RS3 Gen 2 and TTRS 8S platforms for high-performance engine builds, Eventuri has developed a groundbreaking intake system capable of handling even those exceeding the 1000 HP mark. This intake system was designed to provide the highest possible flow while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures. Each component was designed to provide the turbocharger with a smooth and unrestricted path. The intake pipe has an internal diameter of 103 mm or just over 4 inches and features a smooth curve from the filter housing to the turbocharger inlet. The filter itself has been specially designed for this intake and has a huge outer diameter of 210 mm or 8.3 inches, with a filtration area of over 130,000 mm^2. The patented Venturi housing was designed to provide the maximum internal volume possible for the RS3 engine bay while ensuring laminar flow to the turbocharger pipe. Finally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front panel but is not limited only to the standard feed. The front of the duct has been raised to now provide an additional opening behind the hood, equivalent to an additional 7-inch diameter opening for intake. The resulting system has the ability to flow 840 CFM at 28" H2O while maintaining minimal intake temperatures thanks to the sealed design.
Eventuri Difference
The 8V RS3/TTRS Eventuri system utilizes patented carbon fiber Venturi housings, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the intake pipes. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect. You can read more about the housing design and how it works HERE.
Airflow Tests
Eventuri conducted airflow tests using the Superflow SF-1020 device to measure the maximum flow possible at a pressure drop of 28” H2O. The tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions, using the same test equipment for each system. The full intake system was tested compared to the standard Airbox system. The results show how limiting the standard Airbox is, which they were able to improve by up to 58% of maximum possible flow. Importantly, they achieved this with a sealed intake system, ensuring that intake temperatures are also kept to a minimum.
Dyno Tests
Our Stage 3 intake system was tested by various renowned tuners from around the world who built high-power RS3/TTRS projects for both road and track use. The first set of results comes from BR Performance Netherlands, who tested our system on a TTRS equipped with a hybrid turbo TTE700. The tests were conducted on the same day in a comparative mode, with the hood closed. They tested the standard Airbox with a modified standard turbo inlet compared to our Stage 3 intake and with the addition of our 4-inch turbo inlet pipe, which is an additional product - details can be found on our Audi product page.
Summary of Dyno Results:
Standard Airbox with modified standard turbo inlet for TTE700 = 576.5 HP
Eventuri Stage 3 Intake with modified standard turbo inlet for TTE700 = 606.5 HP
Eventuri Stage 3 Intake with Eventuri turbo inlet pipe for TTE700 = 620.8 HPEventuri Stage 3 Intake was also tested as part of a full-frame turbo build, whose performance boundaries exceed the DAZA engine. Recent tests conducted by Eurocharged Canada used the Eventuri Stage 3 intake to achieve 1010 HP at the wheels, further confirming the flow capabilities of the Eventuri system. During the tests, Eurocharged tuners noted that they were able to achieve higher power at lower boost settings using our Stage 3 intake compared to other systems they had used. Their RS3 has already achieved a quarter-mile time of 9.1 seconds at a terminal speed of 160 mph and is quickly approaching a sub-9-second time.
The gains result from a combination of several factors:
-
The sealed system maintains low intake temperatures - the RS3 engine bay can quickly overheat, so an open cone filter will cause an increase in intake temperature, resulting in a loss of performance.
-
The Venturi housing provides a smooth transition from the filter to the intake pipes, which have the same internal diameter of 103mm. This helps hybrid and full-frame turbochargers work more efficiently.
-
The entire system is made of pure pre-preg carbon fiber, which insulates well from heat and has smooth internal surfaces, unlike fiberglass, which may have sharp resin lines.
Eventuri RS3 8V / TTRS 8S Kit
The Eventuri RS3 8V / TTRS 8S intake system consists of a series of components designed to perform specific functions and manufactured with the utmost care. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber without fiberglass, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details of each component and the design principle associated with them:
Each intake system consists of:
- Patented Venturi filter housing with a 103 mm outlet diameter made of carbon fiber
- Individually crafted high-flow dry cone filter
- Carbon fiber intake pipe
- Carbon fiber pipe with an internal diameter of 103 mm
- OPF vent adapter (DWNA)
- Gold reflective-coated thermal shield
- Laser-cut stainless steel brackets
- Silicone breather hose
- Silicone connectors and reducers
Venturi filter housing kit.
The Stage 3 filter housing consists of an individually crafted high-flow filter, an aluminum shield, laser-cut brackets, and the carbon fiber base itself. Carbon fibers surround the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shape the airflow downward into the intake pipes. This smooth cross-sectional area decrease induces the Venturi effect, where airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. This can be compared to a large speed cone - below is a diagram showing the comparison between our patented design and a standard intake system.
Individually crafted Stage 3 cone filter
To achieve the highest possible airflow, we had to redesign our Stage 2 filter and increase its size to the maximum possible within the RS3 engine bay space. The resulting filter has an outer diameter of 210 mm or 8.3 inches and during flow testing with just the carbon fiber housing, it is able to achieve a flow of up to 940 CFM at 28" H2O. The filter medium is tested to ISO standards to ensure filtration meets OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our characteristic flow cones to aid in the Venturi housing principle.
Carbon fiber intake pipe
The pipe directs atmospheric air from the front panel area to the filter housing. It fits the original hose system and smoothly transitions into the circular shape of the filter housing. To ensure good sealing against engine bay heat, it also features a flexible rubber seal around the opening that presses against the filter housing, creating the desired seal while allowing the housing to move with the engine. Since it was designed to support high-power builds, we found that the standard openings in the front panel may cause restriction under high airflow demand. Therefore, we raised the upper surface of the duct and created an opening above the front panel, which is capable of drawing in cold air from behind the closed hood. This additional opening is equivalent to a 7-inch diameter opening and completely eliminates restrictions in standard cold air feed. The Stage 3 duct was designed to have maximum internal volume possible within the given RS3 engine bay geometry. This ensures that the filter housing can draw air with minimal restriction.
We also ensured that the Stage 3 duct is compatible with larger aftermarket throttle bodies available on the market.
Carbon fiber intake pipe
The intake pipe is made of 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, so as mentioned, the inner surface is smooth, and the carbon fiber weave is visible. The Stage 3 pipe has an inner diameter of 103 mm or 4" and features a smooth curve to minimize pressure drop. It directs airflow from the Venturi housing to the turbocharger inlet. The smooth geometry of the bends ensures the maintenance of laminar flow from the filters to the outlets.
Thermal Shield
OPF Adapter (DWNA)
Due to the intense heat generated by the turbocharger, Eventuri designed a thermal shield to protect the carbon fiber pipe. The shield is powder-coated black but has a gold reflective layer at the base to reflect heat radiation from the turbocharger and catalytic converter. It features a stainless steel bracket to provide rigidity and bends around the back of the pipe to reflect convective heat from it. Note - this shield may not fit some full-frame turbocharger systems with a different exhaust manifold. OPF Adapter (DWNA)
Eventuri offers two separate Stage 3 intake systems, one for the DAZA engine and the other for the new 2019 DWNA engine using an adapter and custom breather hose. Please check your engine to ensure you are ordering the correct intake for your car. Here's the difference between these two engines:
