Initially developed for high-power builds on the RS3 platform - we're now introducing this intake to the RSQ3 model. This intake system was designed to provide the highest possible airflow while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures. Every element is engineered to provide a smooth and unrestricted airflow path to the turbocharger. The intake pipe has an internal diameter of 103 mm or just over 4", featuring a smooth curvature from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The filter itself is specially designed for this intake system, boasting a massive outer diameter of 210 mm or 8.3", with a filtration area of over 130,000 mm^2. The patented Venturi housing is designed to provide maximum internal volume possible within the available space in the RSQ3 engine bay, ensuring laminar flow to the turbo inlet pipe. Finally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel, but is not limited only to the standard airbox. We've raised the front portion of the duct to now provide an additional opening behind the grille, equivalent to an additional 7" diameter hole from which the intake can draw air. The resulting system has the ability to flow 840 CFM at 28" H2O while maintaining minimal intake temperatures thanks to the sealed construction.

Eventuri Difference

The F3 RSQ3 Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housings, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo inlet pipe. This isn't just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect. More information on the housing design and its operation can be found HERE.

Airflow Testing

Eventuri conducted airflow tests using the Superflow SF-1020 device to measure maximum airflow achievable at a pressure drop of 28” H2O. Tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions, using the same test equipment for each system. The full intake system was tested compared to the standard AirBox system. The results illustrate how limiting the standard AirBox is, which they've improved by up to 58% of maximum possible airflow. Importantly, they achieved this with a sealed intake system, thereby also maintaining intake temperatures at a minimum level.

Dyno Testing

Our RS3 intake system has been tested by various renowned tuners from around the world who build powerful RS3/TTRS projects for both road and track use. The first set of results comes from MSL Performance, who tested our system on a standard 8Y RS3 model. Tests were conducted on the same day, one after the other. As you can see, there is a measurable increase in power throughout the rev range, up to 22 HP. This increase, even on a stock car, is noticeable on the road due to improved throttle response and faster acceleration.

Dyno Chart IThe Eventuri Stage 3 intake system was also tested as part of a full-frame turbocharger build exceeding the performance limits of the DAZA engine. Recent tests conducted by Eurocharged Canada used the Eventuri Stage 3 intake to achieve 1010 HP at the wheels, further confirming the flow capabilities of the Eventuri system. During testing, Eurocharged tuners noted they were able to achieve higher power at lower boost settings using our Stage 3 intake compared to other systems they've used. Their RS3 already achieved a quarter-mile time of 9.1 seconds at a terminal velocity of 160 mph and are quickly approaching sub-9-second times.

Gains result from a combination of factors:

  1. A sealed system maintains low intake temperatures - the RS3 engine bay can quickly overheat, so an open cone filter would cause an increase in intake temperature values, resulting in performance loss.

  2. The Venturi housing provides a smooth transition from the filter to the intake pipes, which have identical internal diameters of 103mm. This helps hybrid and full-frame turbochargers operate more efficiently.

  3. The entire system is made from pure pre-preg carbon fiber, which insulates excellently from heat and has smooth internal surfaces, unlike fiberglass, which may have present sharp resin lines.

Venturi Housing

The Stage 3 filter housing consists of an individually crafted high-flow filter, aluminum shroud, laser-cut brackets, and the carbon fiber base itself. Carbon fibers surround the filter mounted in reverse, smoothly shaping the airflow downwards to the intake pipes. This smooth cross-sectional area reduction induces the Venturi effect, where the airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. This can be likened to a large velocity cone - below is a diagram showing the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system.

To achieve the highest possible flow capacity, we had to redesign our Stage 2 filter and increase its size to the maximum possible within the RS3 engine bay space. The resulting filter has an outer diameter of 210 mm or 8.3 inches and during flow tests with only the carbon fiber housing, it is able to achieve a flow rate of up to 940 CFM at 28" H2O. The filter media is tested to ISO standards to ensure filtration meets OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our characteristic flow cones to aid in the Venturi housing principle.

Carbon Intake Pipe

The pipe directs ambient air from the front panel area to the filter housing. It fits the original hose system and smoothly transitions into the circular shape of the filter housing. To ensure a good seal against the heat of the engine bay, it also has a flexible rubber seal around the opening that presses against the filter housing, creating the desired seal but allowing the housing to move with the engine. As it was designed to support high-power builds, we noticed that standard openings in the front panel can cause restriction under high flow demand. Therefore, we raised the top surface of the duct and created an opening above the front panel, capable of drawing cold air from behind the closed flap. This additional opening is equivalent to a hole over 7 inches in diameter and completely removes restrictions in standard cold air supply. The Stage 3 duct was designed to have maximum internal volume possible within the geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing can draw air with minimal restriction.

We also made sure that the Stage 3 duct is compatible with larger aftermarket throttle bodies available on the market.

The intake pipe is made from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, so as mentioned, the inner surface is smooth, and the carbon fiber weave is visible. The Stage 3 pipe has an inner diameter of 103 mm or 4" and features a smooth curvature to minimize pressure drop. It directs airflow from the Venturi housing to the turbocharger inlet. Smooth geometry of bends ensures maintaining laminar flow from the filters to the outlets.

Due to the intense heat generated by the turbocharger, Eventuri has designed a thermal shield to protect the carbon fiber pipe. The shield is powder-coated in black but has a gold reflective layer on the base to reflect heat from the turbocharger and catalytic converter. It features a stainless steel bracket for rigidity and bends around the rear of the pipe to reflect convective heat away from it. Note - this shield may not fit some full-frame turbocharger systems with a different exhaust manifold.
