Eventuri Intake BMW E60 M5 / BMW E63 M6 Black Carbon
EVE-E60-CF-INT
BMW E60 M5 / E63 M6 Intake System
Power Increase: 12-15hp, 12-18Nm
The intake system for BMW E60 M5 / E63 M6 retains the benefits of our original system and utilizes the experience we've gained over the years to achieve a more integrated design. By integrating the MAF tube into the carbon fiber housing and replacing OEM flexible hoses with our shorter, custom-made versions, the system now presents itself seamlessly. This intake system has been designed to positively impact the entire driving experience. By leveraging aerodynamics principles and utilizing computational fluid dynamics to optimize airflow, we have developed an intake system that meets all expectations - improving throttle response, increasing torque and power, enhancing handling, and providing an enchanting V10 induction sound.
Eventuri Difference
The Eventuri intake for the S85 engine utilizes a patented carbon fiber housing, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. It's not just another conical filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect. You can read more about the construction of the housing and its operation HERE.
Performance Test
Below is a dyno chart comparing the Eventuri system to the original Airbox on a standard E60 M5 with original software. The tested intake is the Euro version, which is less restrictive than the USA version. As seen, power and torque are increased across a large portion of the rev range, not just at the peak. This is immediately noticeable on the road, as the car is more responsive, more eager to drive even in the mid-range rpm. The tests were conducted on the same day without interruption, and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency.
The tests were conducted on a Dyno Dynamics DS450 dyno. To obtain accurate results, all tests were adjusted based on:
- Intake air temperature using the built-in IAT sensor in the MAF via OBD II
- Ignition timing (Ignition can vary significantly from one run to another)
- Engine temperature (coolant and oil)
- Exhaust gas temperatures
- Two consistent runs recorded for each of the tests below
Testing Procedure:
- Test 1: Stock car, original software, original intake system, and Euro filters
- Test 2: As above, plus Eventuri lower air intakes
- Test 3: Stock car, original software, full Eventuri VAi kit

Patented Filter Housings
The V2 filter housings for the E60 M5 and E63 M6 models utilize our patented Venturi technology, while also combining the MAF tube section for a smooth flow path. The carbon housing encloses the reverse-mounted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow towards the MAF tubes, where the volume gradually decreases. This smooth cross-sectional decrease induces the Venturi effect, where the airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. This can be envisioned as a large speed cone - below is a diagram comparing our patented design with a regular intake system.
Designed Conical Filters
Our selected filter for the E60 M5 / E63 M6 allows for a balance between filtration area and overall filter volume. By using a shorter cone, we were able to optimize the shape of the housing for better flow towards the MAF tubes, while still maintaining sufficient filtration area for CFM requirements. The filter medium is tested according to ISO standards to ensure filtration meets OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our characteristic flow cones to assist in the Venturi principle of the housing.
EPDM Connectors
Extending the housings towards the intake manifold required us to replace OEM flexible hoses with our own version to retain flexibility. Our EPDM connectors are internally stepped, similar to OEM versions, to create a smooth path between the housings and the intake manifold.
Air Inlets
Made of aluminum using laser cutting technology, then powder-coated, there are 2 inlets located behind the front bumper, and another 2 located in the lower brake ducts. The front inlets are curved to smoothly direct atmospheric air into the original air channels, which then remove heated air from the intake area. The lower inlets direct atmospheric air directly into the intake openings.
Thermal Shields
There are 2 aluminum heat shields with neoprene lining. They are located on the engine side of each intake and effectively reflect hot air from the radiator - especially when the fan is engaged.
