Air Intake BMW F8X M3/M4 V2

The air intake system for F8X M3/M4 models is one of our most ambitious solutions. In the new V2 version, it is equipped with sealed filter housings to maintain a stable intake air temperature, even during idle. The new air channels, which seal the housings, combined with our inlets, provide smooth airflow while keeping intake air temperatures low by saturating them with cold air. We have taken care of every detail to create a flagship air intake system that sets a benchmark for this platform. From the inlets to the air channels and intake pipes - we have developed a "comprehensive solution" to ensure a smooth intake path with cold air saturation. Featuring a carbon fiber design matched to the original M Performance carbon elements - it's a true new reference point.

Difference in the Eventuri System

The Eventuri system for F8X M3/M4 models utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. It's not just another conical filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect. More about the housing design can be found HERE.

Performance Test

Below is a dyno chart comparing the Eventuri system to the standard Airbox in the standard F80 M4 model. As you can see, power and torque increase across a large part of the rev range, not just at the peak. This means increased responsiveness on partial and full throttle, and the car accelerates much more eagerly to the redline. Tests were conducted on the same day, one after the other, and temperatures were monitored for consistency. As dyno results vary between runs, this chart shows the highest power value obtained from the standard system compared to the highest value with the Eventuri system.

Stock vs. Eventuri Comparison

Since the F80 M4 is sensitive to overheating, dyno values may differ between runs - we could show the highest value obtained from Eventuri compared to the lowest value obtained from the standard system, but it would be an unfair comparison. To illustrate this difference, here's a chart showing the highest value obtained from Eventuri compared to the lowest value from the standard system, recorded on the same day, showing a gain of over 31HP!

The filter housings consist of high-flow filters, aluminum housings, V-Band clamps, laser-cut brackets, and patented carbon fiber shields. These shields surround the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shape the airflow downward into the inlet tubes. This geometry induces the Venturi effect, where airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. One can imagine it as a large cone of velocity - below is a diagram comparing our patented design with a regular intake system. Our unique filters assist the airflow passing through the housings and allow for uniform velocity profiling upon exiting the housings.

The sealing tubes are placed with sealed holes towards the sealing channels made of carbon fiber. These tubes are designed to fit the standard cold air channels and direct ambient air to the filters. These tubes seal the openings of the filter housings and prevent heated air from entering.

Our intake tubes are again made of 100% prepreg carbon fiber. Each tube features an integrated MAF sensor mounting, CNC machined from aluminum. The shorter intake tube on the left smoothly transitions from the carbon fiber housing down to the turbocharger inlet tube. The longer intake tube on the right side needs to pass by the fan shroud and tank bracket. To achieve this, we applied the same principle as in the stock tube, changing the cross-section from circular to oval for clearance over the shroud, and then back to circular at the end of the filter housing. We ensured these transitions are gradual to not disturb airflow, furthermore, we maintained the same cross-sectional area to maintain a constant flow velocity through the tube.

The final elements of this system are the front air inlets - crucial for directing atmospheric air to the channels and then to the filters.

The inlets are designed for maximum performance in directing incoming air to the factory channel openings. Many external inlets have a large flat surface almost perpendicular to incoming air - which is not favorable for directing it to the channels, as air simply "hits" that flat part and creates turbulence.

Eventuri inlets are designed to be directly behind the front grilles to catch as much air as possible and with a continuous curvature leading to the channel opening to ensure that this airflow is effectively directed. CAD images to illustrate the shape:

Filter Housing Scheme

Having effective cold air flow to the filters is a key element of our design. Simply having a few heat shields is not an effective means of avoiding heated air entering the filters unless these shields create a hermetic envelope around the filters. The inlets and channels in our system combine to provide the filters with atmospheric air and maintain a low intake air temperature.

All these components come together in the engine bay to provide a real improvement in driving experience and deliver an incredible blend of form and function in full harmony.

This air intake system is available in black carbon fiber version, as well as in various kevlar fiber options in red, blue, yellow, or orange.
