The Mercedes intake for the M139 engine in the A45 and CLA45 models was developed to provide a smoother airflow to the turbocharger. By redesigning the system to allow for a much more direct path, the turbocharger can generate boost pressure with less resistance, reaching target boost pressure earlier in the RPM range. This intake system was developed to provide the highest possible airflow speed while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures to achieve an overall performance increase. The unrestricted airflow path also allows for a clearer sound of the turbocharger spool, adding dynamism to the overall driving experience.

Eventuri Difference

The Mercedes M139 Eventuri intake system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbocharger. It's not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce resistance on the turbocharger. Performance Test

Our M139 intake was independently tested by Mercedes tuning specialist in the UK - MSL Performance. Several runs were conducted with the factory airbox to obtain a repeatable result, then again with the Eventuri intake. The tests were conducted on the same day, one after the other. The results show an increase in torque and power across the entire engine RPM range - not just in the maximum RPM range, so the car feels more responsive and is able to accelerate faster through the gears.

Eventuri A45/CLA45 Kit

The Eventuri A45/CLA45 intake system consists of several components designed to fulfill a specific purpose and made from the highest quality materials. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber without fiberglass, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow.

Each intake system includes:

• Patented carbon fiber housing with Venturi effect
• Individually made high-flow dry cone filter
• Carbon fiber inlet duct
• Laser-cut stainless steel brackets
• Laser-cut stainless steel ECU relocation bracket

Carbon Fiber Cone Filter Housing

The M139 filter housing consists of an individually made high-flow filter, aluminum cap, and carbon fiber housing itself. The carbon fiber housing encases the inverted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down the intake tubes. This smooth cross-sectional reduction induces the Venturi effect, where airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. This can be compared to a large speed cone - below is a diagram showing a comparison of our patented design with a typical intake system.

Carbon Fiber Inlet Duct

The inlet duct directs air from the bumper panel area to the filter housing. It matches the factory hose system and smoothly transitions into the circular shape of the filter housing. To ensure good sealing against heat in the engine bay - it also has a flexible rubber edge around the opening, which adheres to the filter housing, creating the desired seal but allowing the housing to move with the engine. The side of the duct has cutouts that allow airflow around the area where the engine control unit is now relocated to help protect against heat. The duct is designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing is able to draw air with minimal restrictions.

Laser-Cut ECU Thermal Shield

To relocate the engine control unit, we designed a laser-cut stainless steel bracket for strength and rigidity. The engine control unit securely mounts to this bracket, which then attaches to the car frame using standard mounting threads used for the factory airbox. Additionally, there is another bracket that supports the filter housing, and finally, a piece that covers the top of the engine control unit for wire protection.
