The intake for the Porsche GT3 RS has been designed to provide a more efficient airflow path to the engine compared to the factory airbox. By utilizing our patented Venturi housing concept, airflow is able to pass through the filters with a much straighter path, reducing system resistance. Additionally, by increasing the overall volume in the intake, maximum flow capacity has also been increased. Utilizing custom-made filters with an outer diameter of 192 mm or 7.5 inches, which provide a filtering surface of over 110,000 mm^2 each, we have maximized the available space. Intake air temperatures have also been minimized by ensuring a sealed system and utilizing carbon fiber, which has a low heat conductivity coefficient through the wall thickness. As a result, the system provides real performance gains and noticeable throttle response improvement.

The Eventuri Difference

The Eventuri system for the Porsche 991 GT3 RS utilizes our patented carbon fiber housings, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the engine. This is not another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect. More information about the housing design and its operation can be read HERE.

Flow Bench Testing

We conducted flow bench tests using the Superflow SF-1020 to measure maximum flow at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions, using the same test rig for each system. We tested our full intake system compared to the standard airbox. The results show an increase in maximum flow of an additional 120 CFM compared to the OEM intake. Importantly, this was achieved through a sealed intake system, ensuring that intake air temperature is also kept to a minimum.

Dynamometer Testing

Our intake underwent independent testing conducted by ES Motors, specializing in high-performance Porsche builds in the UK. The tests were conducted on the same day on a chassis dynamometer. As shown, there is a measurable increase in performance across the entire RPM range, not just at the peak, which is more important as the increased area under the graph proves that the intake has an impact beyond basic numbers. This gain, even in the case of a factory-new car, is noticeable on the road due to improved throttle response and faster acceleration. The first graph is a summary of the results, and the second is a screenshot from the dynamometer test, showing the increase in the mid-range RPM.

The Eventuri intake system for the Porsche 991 GT3 RS consists of several components designed to meet a specific task and made from the highest quality materials. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber without fiberglass, which means we can achieve a smooth inner surface, allowing for smoother airflow.

Each intake system consists of:

The housing for the 991 GT3 RS filter consists of 2 unique high-flow air filters, aluminum housings, laser-cut brackets, and the carbon fiber capsule itself. The carbon fiber capsule surrounds the inverted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the throttle body. This smooth reduction in cross-sectional area induces the Venturi effect, where airflow accelerates while still maintaining laminar conditions. This can be likened to a large velocity cone - below is a diagram showing a comparison between our patented design and a standard intake system.

To achieve the highest possible airflow, we designed the filter element to utilize as much space in the engine bay as possible. This new filter has an outer diameter of 192 mm or 7.6 inches and during flow tests with a 4-inch opening housing is capable of flowing up to 900 CFM at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The center of the filter is tested according to ISO standards to ensure filtration meets OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is made with our signature flow cones, which help in the principle operation of the Venturi housing.

The intake tubes route air from the side vents to the filter housing. To ensure good insulation from heat from the engine bay, they are mounted to the filter housing at three points and use a neoprene seal for a tight seal. The intake tubes are designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing is able to draw air with minimal restriction.

Our silicone connector replaces the factory flexible hose to the throttle body. It mates to the factory throttle body using an internal step to ensure smooth flow.
