Eventuri Intake Audi S3 8V 2.0 TFSI Black Carbon
EVE-2TFSI-CF-INT
Eventuri Intake for Audi S3 8V
Performance increase: 16-25 HP, 15-22 Nm
The Eventuri VAG 2.0 TFSi intake was developed to provide the most efficient and direct airflow path to the turbocharger. By replacing the original housing with our patented Venturi housing and connecting it to a smooth duct, we ensured that the airflow remains as laminar as possible. Additionally, adding a true cold air feed by adding an inlet to the front grille lowers the intake air temperature to the lowest possible level. The result is an optimized intake system that provides noticeable and consistent performance gains.
The 2.0 TFSi Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbocharger pipe. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that allows for maintaining laminar airflow and thus improving turbocharger efficiency. More information about the housing construction and its operation can be found HERE.
The standard AirBox has a cubic shape, which causes turbulence and increases resistance for the turbocharger. Additionally, it draws air from a duct that, despite stretching over the entire grille, is actually open only on one side, and this open side faces towards the engine, so the AirBox draws heat from the engine. Furthermore, when the hood is closed, the only direct path for cold air is through small slots on the top of the grille (in the case of Golf 7 variants). The dynamometer charts below show results before and after on a Golf 7 R (with the same engine as Audi 8V S3), which already had software modification. Both the standard airbox and Eventuri were tested with the same software modification. All tests were conducted directly after each other on the same day with the hood closed.
Guaranteed Power Increase
Single vs. Double Duct. During the development of our system, we designed and tested both a single duct and an extended version of a double duct:
Our Extended Version
Tests showed that the double duct does not generate more power; in fact, we failed to achieve the same results as with the single duct. This is because the single duct allows for the smoothest and most direct airflow path to the filter. Thanks to the constriction right before the opening, there is no chance for warm air to mix with the airflow. Additionally, with the double duct, the airflow must almost make a 90-degree turn from the far side of the grille to then enter the filter housing.
Performance Tests
The Eventuri intake system for Audi S3 consists of a series of components designed to meet specific goals and made with the highest quality. Here are the details of each component and the design idea behind them:
Each intake system consists of:
- Carbon Fiber Prepreg Venturi Housing
- Double Cone High Flow Air Filters
- Aluminum Fins for Smooth Airflow Introduction
- Carbon Fiber Prepreg Duct (also available in plastic)
- Laser-cut Cold Air Flow with Surround
- Laser-cut Stainless Steel Mounts
- Laser-cut Impact Panel Plate
Carbon Fiber Intake Housing and Duct
The filter housing consists of a high flow filter, aluminum shield, laser-cut clamps, and the carbon fiber shell itself. The carbon fiber shell surrounds the filter mounted in reverse and smoothly shapes the airflow downwards into the intake duct. This smooth cross-sectional decrease creates the Venturi effect, where the airflow accelerates while still maintaining laminar conditions. This can be compared to a large velocity cone - below is a diagram comparing our patented design to a regular intake system. The duct directs cold air from the impact panel hole to the filter. By designing the duct to smoothly transition from a rectangular opening at the front to a circular opening for the filter, this allows for the most direct and smooth airflow.
Multiple Color Variants
The duct is also available in both carbon fiber and plastic versions - the filter housing remains carbon fiber in both cases.
