Introducing our updated intake for the G8X M3/M4, which fits the CSL hanger bracket. We conducted extensive research and development to develop an intake that not only enhances the original M3/M4 but is also future-proof in its ability to handle high-power engines, well exceeding 1000 HP. Our system is a complete redesign from the airbox to the turbo inlet, aiming to reduce pressure loss, increase airflow, and maintain low inlet temperatures. We maximized available space to accommodate 2 specially made filters with a 40% larger filtration area than standard. They are used in our patented Venturi housings to smoothly guide air into the turbo inlets. The inlets themselves are up to 160% larger in cross-sectional area than standard and are designed with advanced internal surface features to reduce friction losses between the flow and the wall. By allowing an "air cushion" on the wall surface, airflow can move through the inlets at higher speeds with less pressure loss. This enables the turbochargers to draw air with less resistance, thereby reducing the wastegate duty cycle, leading to overall higher performance.
Eventuri Difference
The Eventuri system for the G8X M3/M4 uses our patented carbon fiber housings with our Gen 2 filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbochargers. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design that utilizes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce turbocharger resistance. You can read more about the housing design and its operation HERE.
Performance Tests
This intake has been independently tested on a dyno by BR Performance in Belgium. The tests were conducted directly comparing results with the original airbox and performing several runs for each configuration. The tested car had no carbon filters. We selected the best results from the original airbox and the best from the Eventuri system. Dyno results show a consistent performance increase across the entire rev range, attributed to achieving maximum acceleration by the turbochargers earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the higher efficiency of the intake system. This increase is evident despite the increase in temperature in the dyno chamber from 11.8 degrees Celsius for tests with the original system to nearly 16 degrees Celsius for tests with the Eventuri system. The performance gain translates to increased throttle response and the car eagerly accelerates to the redline.
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Test
Turbocharged cars can accumulate a lot of heat in the engine bay, which can have a negative impact on performance if the intake system is not sealed from it. Even with the presence of intercooler and charged air coolers, it is important to minimize intake temperatures (IAT) as these cooling devices operate relative to efficiency, so the temperature of the outgoing air depends on the incoming air temperature. Modifying the intake system by using open cones, even if we use additional heat shielding, inevitably results in drawing hot air from the engine bay. Our fully sealed intake solves this issue while also reducing flow restriction through larger volumes. To demonstrate this, we recorded air temperatures using thermocouples directly before each turbocharger. Comparisons were made between original and Eventuri on the same day and under the same ambient conditions. The tested M3 had an issue with overheating and was then accelerated from 30 mph to 90 mph in sixth gear to measure temperature change in each run. At 90 mph, the throttle was released, and brakes were applied to reduce speed to 30 mph, at which point the car was accelerated again to 90 mph. A total of 3 load attempts were made for both intake configurations.
The first chart shows temperatures before both turbochargers with the original airbox on the left and Eventuri intake on the right. Due to axis scaling, they are not perfectly matched between both charts, but the numbers are clearly visible. As expected, the right side of the intake showed similar data between the original and Eventuri, as the airflow path and materials are similar. However, the left side of the intake showed a significant improvement in IAT for Eventuri. This can be seen in the second chart where both charts are overlaid. In each subsequent acceleration, Eventuri shows lower IAT compared to the original, and the IAT spike after throttle release is much lower with Eventuri. This difference stems from the more direct airflow path with Eventuri and the materials used in the turbo inlet.
Eventuri G8X M3/M4 Kit
The Eventuri G8X M3/M4 intake system consists of several components designed to achieve specific goals and crafted with the utmost care. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, without any glass fiber, meaning we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow.
Each intake system includes:
- 2 x patented Venturi filter housings made of carbon fiber
- 2 x individually crafted high-flow dry cone filters
- 2 x carbon fiber air ducts
- Carbon fiber intake pipes
- 2 x turbocharger inlets made of thermoplastic
- Laser-cut stainless steel brackets for perfect fitment
- Full set of silicone couplers and hoses
- Eventuri badge
The intake system replaces the OEM airbox and can be installed using standard tools in about an hour. No further adjustments or calibrations are required, but for the best results, we recommend pairing it with a high-performance exhaust system and appropriate ECU remapping. Installation instructions are included in the package, but we also offer installation services at our authorized dealers worldwide.
Eventuri guarantees the highest quality of materials and workmanship. All parts are carefully inspected before packaging and come with a 1-year warranty against any manufacturing defects.
Eventuri has been developing intake systems for BMW for many years, achieving numerous milestones and setting benchmarks for performance, quality, and design. Our commitment to continuous improvement and pursuit of excellence drives us to push the boundaries of what is possible with intake systems.
