Air Intake for BMW Z4M

The Z4M intake is a continuation of our system for the E46 M3 model, the result of extensive data logging, dyno testing, and project optimization. Our goal was to develop an intake system for the S54 engine that works with the factory ECU mapping and MAF sensor while bringing real improvements in driving experience.
Eventuri Difference
The Z4M Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect. More information about the housing project and its operation can be found HERE.
Performance Test
Below is a dyno chart comparing the Eventuri system to the standard Airbox in a stock Z4M. As seen, power and torque increased significantly across a wide range of RPMs, not just at the peak. In the case of this specific Z4M, the Eventuri intake system increased power by approximately 11 HP, but on other Z4M vehicles, we've seen gains of up to 15 HP. This translates to increased response on partial and full throttle, with the car eagerly revving to the redline. Tests were conducted on the same day back-to-back, and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency.
Although the Eventuri system does not require remapping, we have observed further gains after remapping the Z4M.
Eventuri BMW Z4M Kit
Each component is designed for a specific purpose and crafted to a very high standard.
Each Z4M kit includes:
- 100% impregnated carbon fiber intake housing
- Anodized aluminum intake duct shield
- High-flow filter
- CNC machined MAF tube
- Laser-cut and powder-coated aluminum heat shield
- Aluminum heat shield with neoprene lining
- High-quality silicone connector with BMW standard clamps
Carbon Fiber Eventuri Housing
Made from 100% high-quality impregnated carbon fiber, the housing's craftsmanship is unparalleled. The housing surrounds the filter and connects to the aluminum intake duct to provide a smooth airflow path. The filter itself is a deeply pleated, high-flow dual cone, which is dry to avoid MAF sensor damage. Lastly, it's assembled with an aluminum heat shield that effectively encloses the intake from engine bay heat and captures surrounding air directed from the inlet. We've also introduced a clip for radiator hose mounting.
Air Inlet
Made from laser-cut aluminum and then powder-coated, the Z4M air inlet directs surrounding air directly into the filter orifice and effectively maintains air temperature at a low level. Unlike other hoods available on the market, no drilling is required for installation. This inlet simply presses into place using factory holes and provided push clips.
MAF Tube
The MAF tube is CNC machined from aluminum and then anodized. The MAF socket itself is machined from engineering plastic to minimize heat transfer to the sensor through conduction. We've introduced a pressed indentation on one side to allow the use of the original rubber gasket from the factory Airbox, ensuring a perfect seal in the factory connector.
Heat Shield
The heat shield is laser-cut from aluminum and then powder-coated. We use neoprene for insulation within the shield to ensure optimal performance in maintaining the lowest intake temperature. We've introduced a clamp at the top of the shield to secure the cooling hose.
These components combine to improve engine intake performance. The result is increased power, throttle response, and sound.
