Eventuri Turbo Inlet BMW F9X M5 / M8 Turbo
Turbocharger Inlet Pipes for BMW F9X M5 / M8
Acceleration Time: 0.12 seconds shorter from 60 to 130 mph
*Some photos show our optional F90 M5 intake system available separately. Compatible with F90 M5, F92 M8, also fits with the factory airbox.
We present the perfect complement to our intake system for the BMW F90 M5, to optimize airflow to the turbochargers. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than standard inlets, maintaining a larger diameter all the way to the turbochargers. Standard inlets narrow immediately after connecting to the intake, creating a restriction especially at higher acceleration levels. We have eliminated this restriction and designed the curvature to be as smooth as possible, allowing the turbochargers to achieve maximum acceleration more quickly.
During development, we also tested inlets with larger openings and redesigned the intake to have oversized connections to the inlets. However, tests did not show further benefits, so we decided to proceed with this version, which allows the use of our current intake without any modifications, while still providing the best performance.
Performance Test
The intake system was tested on the road using Dragy to record acceleration from 60 to 130 mph. Tests were conducted on the same stretch of road and on the same day to minimize variables. The results show that after adding just the inlets, acceleration times from 60 to 130 mph decreased by 0.12 seconds, which is a significant improvement at those speeds.
Eventuri Inlet Pipes Kit
Eventuri inlet pipes for BMW F90 M5 are made from high-temperature pre-impregnated carbon fiber and are supplied with a range of other components designed for a specific purpose and crafted with the utmost care.
Each set of inlets includes:
- A pair of pre-impregnated carbon fiber inlet pipes
- CNC machined turbocharger flanges
- CNC machined crankcase valve assembly
Developed Technology
During development, we designed 2 versions for comparison. One was intended for use with our current intake system and the standard airbox, and the other had larger openings and was to be used with an oversized intake system. Both designs were prototyped and tested on high-power BMW F90 M5 cars. The results showed that the gains between both versions were the same, so we went ahead with the inlets that could also be used with our current intake system. The diagram illustrates both versions that were developed.
Eventuri vs. OEM Comparison
Performance gains come from providing less restrictive airflow paths to the turbochargers, allowing maximum acceleration to be achieved earlier in the RPM range. Comparing to standard inlets, the differences are clearly visible. Where standard pipes narrow immediately after connecting to the inlets, our pipes maintain a larger diameter, and the reduction to standard turbochargers is achieved through an internal radius on machined surfaces. This allows for greater volume while maintaining a smooth flow path. One drawback of oversized inlets was a more aggressive size reduction to match standard turbochargers, creating some flow restrictions.
