Carbon Fiber Chargepipe for BMW S55

Introducing our carbon fiber turbocharger pipes for BMW S55. We've invested months of intensive research and development to design and test chargepipes that leave no room for compromise. Fitment - flow - quality - these are the three main design criteria we've committed to fulfilling.

  1. FITMENT:

    A common issue with aftermarket chargepipes is poor fitment due to their construction from bent metal pipes. Clearances with the engine cover and other intake systems can be problematic. Our solution involves the use of carbon fiber, allowing us to utilize complex geometries to achieve OEM-like fitment while maintaining optimal flow.
  2. FLOW QUALITY:

    Our design features smooth transitions of curves from the turbocharger outlets. Additionally, we've increased the internal volume compared to the OEM version to allow the turbochargers to operate with fewer restrictions. Importantly, our mechanically mounted flanges to the turbocharger outlets maintain a constant cross-section on the chargepipes, without exposed edges that could cause turbulence. This is an improvement over aftermarket metal chargepipes, which often have welds between the flange and the pipes.
  3. DURABILITY:

    The final criterion was to increase the structural durability of the chargepipes compared to the OEM version. OEM chargepipes are increasingly prone to failure, especially with tuning at higher acceleration levels. By using a cross-directional carbon weave with multiple layers creating a wall thickness of 2 mm, our pipes provide an incredibly durable solution for reliable operation even with larger turbochargers. Furthermore, we've incorporated CNC-machined stainless steel rings at the clamping points to ensure that the pipes maintain their shape even under high clamping forces.

To enhance the structural reliability of the carbon chargepipes, we haven't added methanol ports to them. Instead, we've designed a separate pipe that will contain several methanol ports. Placing these ports in the pipe is also more suitable for additional cooling, as it is located just before the intake manifold.

Eventuri BMW S55 chargepipe tubes are made from pre-impregnated carbon fiber, resistant to high temperatures, and are equipped with a series of other components designed to meet specific purposes and manufactured to the highest standards.

Each chargepipe system consists of:

  • 2 x High-Temperature Resistant Chargepipes
  • 2 x CNC Machined Turbocharger Flanges
  • Silicone Connectors with Oil Resistant Lining
  • Marine Grade Stainless Steel Clamps

The construction utilizes multiple layers of carbon, applied in cross-pattern weaves to increase the part's strength. Each tube features CNC-machined stainless steel flanges built-in, providing additional strength in clamping areas. The tubes have smooth bends and outlets to ensure an efficient flow path for compressed air traveling from the turbochargers to the intercooler. By providing no sharp edges or exposed surfaces, the turbochargers can operate as intended, similar to factory chargepipes.

The connection to the turbocharger outlets is made using CNC-machined flanges, which utilize OEM original sealing rings to ensure the required sealing. Each surface is machined from aerospace-grade aluminum, then anodized black. High-quality silicone connectors are then used to connect the flanges to the tubes, and stainless steel clamps are used for securing.
